Education as Art; Art as Education

While in Berlin, as I studied art based educational reforms of the early 20th century, I was fortunate enough to sit with Berlin based choreographer, Be Van Vark who teaches child classes at the Bauhaus Archive and also works with an organization called Dancers Without Frontiers. Here is an insightful quote from our inspirational interview:

“One of the most important things is what the arts does to our brains, you know? Like the way that you make more networks between the right and left side of the brain. All this does enable you to have more possibilities. You have more structure; you have more networks; you have more possibilities; you have more alternatives; you know? More alternatives to think, more alternatives to act, more alternatives to move.”
