In the months leading up to the 2016 U.S. presidential elections, Americans were alarmingly polarized in their views, and instead of genuine dialogue, many stayed silent, shouted out talking points, or hurled insults at those who did not share their beliefs. After the election results were published, this continued and in many case worsened. It is not hard to see that the U.S. is divided in a way that makes many feel overwhelmed and hopeless.
