The bedrock of the arts is creativity, and creativity comes from vision. Artist reimagine and recreate reality for themselves and the world, and this is why the arts are so important to human rights. In solidarity with virtually every other city in the nation and a host of cities around the world, San Jose, California held their January 21st, 2017 Women’s March to make a stand for Women’s dignity and rights. This short video by Art is Power’s Patrice Milillo illustrates the importance of solidarity in carrying out this vision. The music, chanting, and the beautifully executed posters all reflected a vision of a country that respects its daughters, sisters, mothers, and grandmothers.
