Shrines to Humanity; Reconnecting with the Inner Caveman

For the past 25 years, Ra Paulette has been connecting to his inner caveman by carving out man-made caves from the sandstone hills of New Mexico, and then sculpting them into works of art he calls wilderness shrines. He is not a formally trained artist, contractor, or structural engineer; He’s just a regular guy who does what makes him feel good and accepts the process of learning and growing. It’s not about money, fame, status, or acceptance. The sculptures are his own personal vision, done on his own terms, and they celebrate personal expression and the spirit of human creativity and innovation.
